Sketch design for artwork in the courtyard of The Assistive Technology Center and Region Kronoberg Archives, Sigfridsområdet, Växjö, Sweden [rejected].
A sculptural installation, based on organic shapes as well as historical and architectural elements taken from the park environment of the Sigfrid area in Växjö, Sweden. If realised, the work would be made of powder-coated steel, sheet steel, aluminium and glass – about 5 meters wide and 2 meters high.
Panels are mounted in a systematic repetitive pattern on an adaptive framework. The interlocking geometric elements form a kind of camouflage, as the purpose of the installation is to help create space within the space; to block the view of the people using the test track in the courtyard.
The sculptural units of the artwork allude to the fact that the world is made up of interconnected systems, with structures that interact, depend on and have an impact on each other. They become symbols of the organic forces of nature as a source of healing and vitality.
