Herengracht

Installation, 2009
Water, pump, hoses, electric kettles, plastic, wood, tape, funnel, drainage channels (Various sizes)

An extension and manipulation of the Herengracht (the Gentlemen’s Canal) in Amsterdam City Centre. Installation made at Plan B Projects in 2009.

In this installation, water was pumped up from the canal and tapped through hoses into six electric kettles. From there it steamed into a plastic tent-like weather chamber, where it quickly evaporated and was re-distributed (via drainage channels and tubes) back into the main canal.
